Preparation
The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without decking the halls with boughs of holly, stockings, and, of course, wreaths. The Christmas motif brings cheer to both the exterior and interior of your home, whether it’s hung from windows and doors or displayed above your mantel.
The only downside to wreaths is that they can often be clunky to store in the off-season. But with some innovative storage solutions, you’ll be able to keep the evergreens safe from dust and pests while still ensuring they’re conveniently tucked away.
While some of the expert-recommended options below will keep your festive pieces safe from damage, others will help you store them in the correct way. “Place wreaths on simple ’s’ hooks or a coat hanger and hang in the back of a closet or on a tension rod,” says Laura Nicosia, owner and designer at ShelfGenie of San Antonio, a Neighborly company. “Another idea is to make use of the space under your stairs. With pull-out shelves or stacking containers and a bit of creativity, you’d be surprised how much you can store there.”
