“People like to say salsa”, yeah it’s true. And people love to consume salsa! It really is one of the top condiments in America. But here’s the thing, you don’t have to settle for just any ordinary salsa, there’s all sorts of different variations and wonderful ingredients with which to use. For this recipe, we replace the tomatoes with mangoes and strawberries. Yep… and with a few more simple ingredients, it’s a salsa that will make you the star of your next get together when everyone says “OMG, you have to give me this recipe!”
Simple, Sweet and Savory Ingredients
The ingredients for our mango salsa are really quite simple. 2 diced mangos provide that rich sweet flavor that only mangos have. Diced strawberries for that juicy sweet and slightly tart taste we all love. 2 diced avocados give the salsa that rich, creamy, satisfying flavor. Diced red onions provide their vibrant, slightly sweet flavor. Chopped fresh cilantro, salt and pepper bring the flavors to life. Lime juice brings it all together.
Make it your own
There’s really an endless amount of possibilities for additional ingredients. For those that are not crazy about cilantro, chopped green onions are an excellent substitution. If you want a little heat, chop up some jalapeños and toss them in. For more tropical fruitiness, add some fresh pineapple. Give it more crunch with chopped red, yellow or green peppers. I think you get the idea here… you can use this recipe as your base and add/substitute to your heart’s desire.
Serving Suggestions
Our mango salsa is, of course excellent with salsa’s favorite companion – corn chips. Green and blue corn chips add additional flare to the presentation. This salsa is also amazing over salmon filets! Check out our recipe for Air Fryer Citrus Garlic Salmon. It’s one of our favorites and when served with the mango salsa… wow! It also goes great with grilled chicken breasts, or even with pork loin roast or pork tenderloin.
