I kept seeing this advertisement pop up all of Facebook, and I finally caved in and bought the LED Beanie for Christmas gifts! I figured my husband and kiddo will have fun with it at night if I ask them to go get the mail or deliver cookies to the neighbors or plow the driveway!!

Here’s a quirky holiday gift idea for the cat lover in your life:  a Cat Embossed Rolling Pin found on Etsy.  Looks like they offer many other kinds of rolling pins like this – owls, squirrels, dogs, butterflies, horses, etc.  Could be fun!

Here’s an excellent board to follow on Pinterest: MOST VIRAL PINS ON PINTEREST – here you can keep up with the most popular recipes from some of the most popular food blogs on the internet!

While doing some online shopping for the holidays yesterday, I came upon this adorable DONUT JACKET!!!!!  If I had a teenage daughter, she’d be getting this from me the Christmas.  Isn’t it so cute?

I’m going to recommend 6 cookbooks for holiday gift giving- these are my favorites, and they’re the ones I’ve been using the most this year (some were not published this year… but I love them anyways!)  And I’m all about buying cookbooks that are approachable and easy.

The Pioneer Woman Cooks Dinnertime by Ree Drummond:  This is Ree’s 3rd cookbook!  I have loved all of her books, and this one is no exception.  She lives such an interesting life that it’s fun to see all of her photos and read her tidbits.  This book has great ideas for dinner- comfort food, freeze ahead, quick and easy… and lots of step-by-step photos. 6 Ingredient Solution- How to Coax More Flavor From Fewer Ingredients by America’s Test Kitchen:  If you’re looking for easy dinner recipes with few ingredients, this is a book to have on your cookbook shelf.  ATK tests recipes like crazy before they are published, so you know they’re all good! The Classic Slow Cooker- Best Loved Family Recipes to Make Fast and Cook Slow by Judy Hannemann:  I love my slow cooker for the crazy, busy days that my son has basketball practice at dinnertime.  This book is a good one because it’s full of family-friendly, easy dinner recipes. Brownies, Blondies and Bars by Stephanie Brubaker:  I’ve just been starting to bake from this one for the holidays this year. There are so many fantastic goodies in this book, and they’re all accompanied by a photo! Piece of Cake- One Bowl, No Fuss, From Scratch Cakes by Camilla Saulsbury:  This book has been on my “must buy” list for a few years now!  I can’t help it… it’s a book I keep reaching for again and again every time I bake a cake!  The recipes are on point and easy to make.  Tons of great cake recipes from a great author. Sally’s Candy Addiction- Tasty Truffles, Fudges & Treats for Your Sweet-Tooth Fix by Sally McKenney:  Here’s another one I’ve been using for my holiday baking this year- so many fun ideas.  Sally is an expert at creating sweet treats…I’d also like to try her other book, Sally’s Baking Addiction. The Skinnytaste Cookbook- Light on Calories, Big on Flavor by Gina Homolka:  My friend Gina is queen of lightening up recipes and still making them taste awesome.  I can’t wait until her next book comes out, but until then I’m still getting good use of her first book. Weight Watchers 50th Anniversary Cookbook- 280 Delicious Recipes for Every Meal:  I have always been enamored with Weight Watcher recipes, and this book is a good one.  The recipes are delicious, and you learn some great ideas for how to cut fat/calories. The Whole 30- The 30-Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig:  A lot of people I know have turned to eating a mostly whole-foods-diet these days.  I try to do that on occasion too.  This book has tons of great recipes for eating clean.

Here’s Adam Sandler’s latest Chanukah Song- Part 4!  If you’ve been a fan of his other versions, this one is pretty funny too 🙂

If you still have relatives lingering after the holidays, here is quite a nice collection of recipes for Breakfast Casseroles.  They are perfect for serving a bunch of people.

Here are a couple of delicious recipes from Faith from An Edible Mosaic blog:

Macaroni and Cheeseburger Vegetable Soup Beet and Carrot Salad with Pomegranate and Pumpkin Seeds (favorite detox salad)

This new cookbook was a Christmas gift from my husband: Gjelina:  Cooking from Venice, California.  We’ve eaten at this restaurant in southern California (Venice) a few times, and it has always been one of our favorites.  It’s one of those restaurants where you can try anything on the menu and you know it’s going to be awesome.  I can’t wait to try so many of the recipes in the book!  I’ll be making a recipe sometime soon to share with you, and I will share more about the book then.

Here are three soup recipes that have been updated on RecipeGirl recently by Serene from the House of Yumm blog.  Serene has been making some of my older recipes for me and updating my photos.  So here are some delicious soups she made and photographed- just in time for winter soup season!

Chipotle Chicken and Tomato Soup Potato Soup with Bacon Bean and Chorizo Soup

We’ve had loads of snow this year already!  Our ski resorts up in Tahoe are ecstatic and busy.  There is a ski resort 12 minutes from my house, so my son has been LOVING skiing every single day over the holiday break.  Our labradoodle Tessie loves the snow too.  It snowed just under a foot at our house on Christmas Eve.  So pretty and COLD!

On Parade Magazine’s blog last week, I shared some fabulous dinner recipe ideas:  15 RECIPES FOR CHICKEN LOVERS

Using a cast iron pan as a makeshift pizza stone is such a great idea if you don’t own a pizza stone!!

Is it freezing where you live this time of year??  It has been pretty darn cold in my part of the world this winter, so I’ve been a crazy, soup-making lady.  I seriously have been making two different kinds of soup per week for the last several weeks in an attempt to keep myself warm!  So here are two good links for you:

20 BEST SOUP RECIPES TO MAKE THIS WINTER 15 SLOW COOKER SOUP RECIPES TO MAKE FOR DINNER

The Bagel Store in Brooklyn, New York is now making rainbow bagels.  I can’t even imagine how much artificial color is going into these bagels, but they’re pretty cool looking!

I’m so happy to share with you a re-design of my son Brooks’ blog.  He’s been at this food blogging thing for 4 1/2 years already (yep, started when he was 10), and it was time to turn the blog into something he can bring to college with him.  Please check out RecipeBoy.com for his redesign and follow him there for more recipes!

Here are two fantastic looking recipes from one of my favorite blogs- An Edible Mosaic:

Baked Pizza Dip Cherry-Almond Brown Butter Blondies with White and Dark Chocolate Chips

Spotted this crazy toaster recently:  the SELFIE TOASTER!  Yes, you can take a selfie and then make toast that imprints the person in the photo!  Of course this is a novelty item, but I can see how you could have some fun with it 🙂

And here are two more yummy recipes to share from another favorite blog of mine:  Spoonful of Flavor:

Tropical Green Smoothie Bowl One Pot Tortellini Minestrone Soup

RabbitWine.com sent me a couple of their new products to test them out.  This is a Sam Adams Stainless Steel Beer Growler and a Sam Adams Stainless Steel Perfect Pint.  I gifted them to my husband since we have a nice bar area in our house (and he loves beer too).  He thinks these are majorly cool.  The growler can hold 64 ounces of beer- great if you want to transport it in something other than cans or bottles (or fill up at your favorite craft brewery).  I think it would make a cool birthday gift for the beer lover in your life (or save for Father’s Day!)

Here’s the most updated picture of my Tessie the Labradoodle.  We got dumped on last week with 15 inches of snow.  Tessie loves it!
