olive oil, or vegetable oil to brush on bread
2 lb Italian-style meatballs, cooked and frozen
1 lb onions, frozen, chopped, thawed, and drained
1 ½ cups pasta sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Brush 1 side of each bread slice with oil.
Line the bottom and side of a casserole dish with bread, oil side up. Slightly overlap the slices.
Bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
In a large bowl, mix the meatballs, onion, and pasta sauce.
Spoon the meatball mixture into the crust, making sure they are evenly distributed.
Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated in the center.
