Fun and Super Easy to Make
This is one of those recipes where you really just toss a few ingredients into the Instant Pot and let it do it’s thing. If you’re making it for Thanksgiving, have the kids help! It will keep them busy for a few minutes and they can say they helped make the best holiday cranberry sauce.
The Perfect Simple Ingredients
Cranberry sauce is pretty basic, it’s just cranberries, liquid and sugar. But for our special family favorite cranberry sauce, we’ll jazz it up with some spices that give it that special flavor everyone knows and loves. We’ll use…
Fresh cranberries Orange juice Brown sugar White sugar Ground nutmeg Cinnamon Orange zest Pinch of salt
Yep, told you it was simple. And after you rinse the cranberries, just toss it all in the Instant Pot, stir it together, and 14 minutes later the magic is almost complete!
Can I Double the Recipe?
Fresh cranberries commonly come in 12oz packages and a serving size is usually about ½ cup. That’s about 7 servings. But if you want to make more, absolutely just double all the ingredients. The cooking times will all remain the same – 4 minutes pressure cook, 10 minutes natural release.
Can I Adjust or Add to the Recipe?
While this is a tried and true recipe, you can certainly customize it to your liking. Feel free to add another ¼ cup of sugar (white or brown) to make it even sweeter. You can also add some ground allspice for an additional vibrance. A little vanilla extract adds a nice, happy flavor as well.
Can I Use Frozen Cranberries?
Absolutely you can use frozen cranberries. Everything will remain the same. The only difference is that it will take the Instant Pot a couple of more minutes to come to pressure. But you’ll still pressure cook for the 4 minutes with 10 minute natural release.
