1½ tbsp rice flour, or potato starch
4½ tsp chili powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp cumin
½ tsp garlic salt
¼ tsp brown sugar
½ tsp beef bouillon
1⅓ lb lean ground beef, preferably chuck
1 cup beef stock, or water
2 tbsp vegetable oil
To serve:
Taco shells
sides, any sides like guacamole, sour cream, grated cheese, shredded salad greens
Combine your rice flour or potato starch, chili powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, garlic salt, sugar, & dried onion in a small bowl.
Heat up oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Once hot, add the ground beef. Break up any large chunks with your spatula and continue sauteing until browned.
Remove from the heat and drain any excess liquid or oil from the pan.
Return the pan to heat and add your spice mixture, bouillon, & water.
Bring the sauce to a simmer for at least 15 minutes or until the sauce has thickened & no aftertaste of starch or flour.
Assemble your hard taco shells and top them with your favorite fresh ingredients to garnish.
Your homemade Del Taco beef tacos can be enjoyed as an appetizer or as a full on meal, depending on the size of your taco shells. Go for a smaller size to serve as finger food when you’re hosting a fun night of dinner and drinks at home with friends.
