2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ tsp cinnamon
¾ tsp ground nutmeg
½ cup applesauce
½ cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
¾ cup blackberries, cut into small pieces
¾ cup apple, chopped into small pieces
3 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp oats
½ tsp ground nutmeg
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Line muffin tray with muffin liners. Set aside.
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg. Mix together.
In another bowl, combine sugar, applesauce, milk, egg, and vanilla.
Whisk until no lumps remain.
Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture ⅓ part at a time, stirring until just combined.
Gently fold in apple and blackberries.
In a bowl, stir together the brown sugar, oats, and the remaining ½ teaspoon nutmeg.
Portion batter into the muffin tray.
Sprinkle the tops with the crumb topping.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out moist.
Serve warm and enjoy!
