We’ve been drinking Cranberry Mimosas on Christmas morning for as long as I can remember.  I’m not one to ever (ever!) drink any kind of alcohol in the morning.  But on Christmas morning we always make a grand breakfast to share (Buffet Breakfast Casserole and Grandma Billie’s Cinnamon Rolls), and we open gifts and drink Cranberry Mimosas while our breakfast is baking.  It’s just such a festive and wonderful time, so the mimosas are a nice treat.

What are Mimosas?

A Mimosa is a cocktail comprised of one part champagne and one part citrus fruit juice (usually orange juice).  It’s usually served in a champagne flute at brunches and weddings, and special celebrations.

To turn Mimosas into Cranberry Mimosas, it’s very simple.  You’ll need just three ingredients: champagne (or Prosecco), orange juice and cranberry juice.

How to Make Cranberry Mimosas:

Add a little orange juice to a glass.

Add an equal amount of cranberry juice.

Top with champagne (or Prosecco).

Garnish with a fresh orange wedge.  That’s it!  You have a beautiful Cranberry Mimosa that is perfect for sharing with others. If you are making a bulk batch to serve to a lot of people, line up the glasses, add a little ice in each glass, and pour the ingredients in the glasses one by one.

It doesn’t really matter what glasses you serve these Cranberry Mimosas in.  I like to use some sort of wine glass or goblet.  It feels fancy that way.  And any time you’re serving champagne, it deserves a fancy glass! If you’re looking for more things to serve on a holiday morning, you might like to try my Farmer’s Casserole or this Eggnog French Toast.  Holiday Breakfast Casserole, Chocolate Babka Wreath and Gingerbread Waffles are great holiday-themed breakfast items too.
