3 salmon fillets, 1-inch thick
For the tartar sauce:
¾ cup sour cream
¼ cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp horseradish, prepared
1 tsp soy sauce
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
For the seasoning sauce:
1 ½ tbsp olive oil
½ tbsp horseradish, prepared
1 tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt
½ tsp soy sauce
Tartar Sauce:
In a bowl, mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, basil, lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper, mix, and set aside.
Seasoning Sauce:
Combine the olive oil, 1/2 tablespoon of horseradish, garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a bowl.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce and mix using a whisk until ingredients are well combined.
Brush seasoning sauce to both sides of the salmon.
Grease and heat the grill at medium-high heat.
Cook the salmon for 5 minutes on each side.
Serve on a plate and garnish, and you’re all set!
For added flavor, marinate your salmon for a couple of hours – or 24 hours – before grilling.Preheat the pan on the stove for a few minutes before adding the fish. This creates a nice crust on the fish and will prevent the meat from falling apart later on.Serve with a side of seasonal vegetables of your liking, just like in Outback Steakhouse restaurants.
