But thanks to a crop of new online companies—many eco-conscious and female-owned—you can create, click, and order personalized pieces without the showroom prices. Grab your vision board. If anything needs a little special treatment, it’s your window treatments—the right size, style, and opacity are truly in the eye of the homeowner. To get the beauty above made, we logged on to Loom Decor, typed in our dimensions, and chose from more than 400 designer fabrics. (We went with the flat roman shade in Giaconda Black (from $146, loomdecor.com)). Your creation will arrive in one to six weeks, and if you’re feeling matchy, you can order lumbar pillows and duvet covers, too. For the pretty Belgian-linen drum lampshade, we visited Greige Textiles—it’s the 15-inch lampshade in the Hale pattern and Lipgloss colorway (from $400, greigetextiles.com)—which screen-prints and hand-assembles custom work and also makes pillows.

To turn your bedroom into a pulled-together dream, customize key items in simpatico colors and patterns, and set them against serene neutrals. We designed the headboard above—it’s the Art Deco Queen Headboard in Shibori ($619, theinside.com)—using a digital-print-on-demand process at The Inside, which offers hundreds of colors and prints, including collaborations with textile titans such as Scalamandré and Sheila Bridges. The company upholsters sofas, dining chairs, and ottomans, too. The window shade was created with Everhem; the lampshade with Greige Textiles; the bench is vintage.
